Clinical trial finds vitamin D increases telomerase activity

Reduced risk of cancer in vitamin D and calcium supplementation

The higher the vitamin D level at the time of a cancer diagnosis, the longer you live.

To date, there are only three randomized controlled trials (RCT) on whether vitamin D plays a role in preventing cancer. One of the three RCTs was previously thought to show no benefit in supplementing with vitamin D and calcium, until a recent reanalysis of the data. The reanalysis shows that in fact vitamin D and calcium can possibly reduce the risk of cancer. Continue reading
